»description
ptolemy is a very effeminate looking man. his face is heart shaped, smoothed in unblemished though pale skin. he carries a long mane of oddly shaded hair, a silver hue that grows steadily toward violet toward the ends of the strands. it curves around his face, hugging his cheeks. ptolemy has a very slim, curving figure, more feminine than masculine. his skin is dotted with thin scars, wounds from battles past. it’s not necessarily surprising considering how very little clothing he covers himself in. very obviously a narcissist, ptolemy cares less about the practicality of his outfit then how he looks in it. large and important sections of his body are exposed, such as his midriff and back as well as sections of his thighs. fortunately, combat is a place he does very well in, making the glaring flaws in his outfit nothing but a slight hindrance.

»personality
ptolemy could easily be described as desperately loyal. when he pledges himself to something, or more specifically someone, there is nothing that can defer his attentions. he will do anything they ask of him, no matter the task. failure is out of the question and any chance that he could makes him nearly crazed with fearful rage. he becomes severely attached to anyone he considers worthy enough to follow, making him the perfect blind follower. because of the conditions of his upbringing, having someone like this is almost necessary to his continued existence. he needs purpose, goes nearly mad without it, and will give up duties from his country to seek out someone with ones he’ll willingly accept. his loyalty goes only to those he finds fitting of the words.
being so dependant flushes out the rest of his personality. naïve about much of the world, ptolemy can come across as nearly childish. he is very talkative, narcissistic, and energetic. his skill in physical combat is only rivaled by his skill in verbal combat. he has sarcastic tendencies and switches between being blunt and beating around the bush quite frequently, pending on his current mood. ptolemy lacks the ability to hide his emotions, making his face more honest than his mouth. he enjoys teasing others but has a short temper when the subject is himself. however, ptolemy’s loyalty makes up more than half of his personality and if one can receive it, he’s very docile and, for a lack of a better term, sweet.
»family
father // deceased as of ten years past
mother // deceased as of twenty-two years past
siblings // he considers the children from the orphanage as a sort of distant relative, the close nature of considering them siblings lost during testing, then further detached when they were sent different ways afterward
»history
ptolemy was born on a very cold day in april during a rather violent storm. the temperature, the poor conditions of his birth, and the difficulty of his labor all contributed to his mother’s death in the process. with her death, came the strong possibility that he would die as well. left alone with his mourning father, the first few years of ptolemy’s life were a complete struggle. his father’s ignorance to raising a newborn nearly lead to the boy’s death a handful of times, whether from what he was given to eat or how carelessly he was transported. how fortunate ptolemy’s father’s next choice was is debatable. knowing he could not care for the boy, he regretfully gave him away to a small orphanage on the edge of oceuk.
ptolemy’s failing health rapidly improved and he quickly became a very healthy boy. for nearly six years, he lived without fatal hindrance, playing with the other children that had no place to call their home, no family to call their own. it is more than likely that, despite how well he seemed to take it, it was here that ptolemy’s need to serve and dependence on order drew from. just shy of his eighth birthday, a man arrived at the orphanage, retrieving nearly half of the children without complaint to their personalities or appearances. at first, the prospect was deliriously amazing. ptolemy would have a home, one where all the people he’d played with all his life would be his family as well. however, it did not take long for the joy to wear off.
the experiments started immediately, pain immeasurably surging through ptolemy’s veins as he was toyed with. his family from the orphanage was subjected to the same treatment, children the same age as himself tortured in bodies that were eventually improved for the act of war alone. ptolemy was one of the few children that survived, his suffering rewarded only by his forced recruitment into the army of oceuk. and ptolemy was perhaps the only child to fully accept it. what else did he have to live for as it was? he had no family, no home. he knew very little about the world. being a solider offered him purpose, made his suffering not for naught. he accepted his fate with an attitude almost completely willing. he has been a member of oceuk’s loyal soldiers for nearly four years.

»inventory
beyond his weapon and the clothing on his back, ptolemy does not carry anything at all times. he has very little to be sentimental about.
»weapons
despite how proficiently ptolemy uses magic, he is very skilled with the sue of melee weapons. taught to excel, ptolemy usually carries a thin sword, something akin to a rapier. the hilt is curled as such, shielding his hand and has traces of gold and purple in it. it’s very finely crafted and was given the name ion.
»physical abilities
his skills in magic have given him the necessary abilities to achieve a low level of flight. he is able to hover off the ground and fly short distances. long distances are completely out of the question however, and he is unable to hover too high above the ground due to the strain of gravity. on another note, ptolemy’s body is extremely agile, making him able to dodge many attacks from a mix of speed and flexibility. the modifications to his body are seen most accurately here, during combat.
»magical abilities
most of ptolemy’s skill in combat comes from his proficiency in magic. he is able to channel very advanced magic though he prefers magic that centers around electricity and light. his magic is both offensive and defensive, able to shield himself from minor attacks and spells. he cannot do both at once (ie: cannot hold a ‘shield’ while casting lightning) but he can move between the two very quickly. ptolemy is quite well known to those he’s battled for his ability to contain the full power of an attack into an orb he can hold like an orb. being hit with one is as devastating as feeling the whole attack. while it consumes more of ptolemy’s energy, it is far more accurate.
